Rosco Gordon had smash hits in the fifties playing jump blues for Sun Studies in Memphis. According to many musicologists Roscos piano rhthyms would find their way outside the U.S. and be reborn as Ska music. Rosco's songs were often stolen, making others rich as he lapsed into obscurity. I photographed Rosco twice. Once in Queens, NY and later in Nashville as he finished what would be his last recordings. Rosco died a few weeks after the last photos were taken. For more information on Rosco go to Hoobellatoo.org. His story is very interesting. You can also find more of my photos there. NY Nashville
I can't believe you didn't tell me about this sight sooner. I found a couple of pics I would like to get. I am going to share this sight with some friends. See you at Frisbee.
